“Covid -19 is the most challenging pathogen we may have faced in recent decades,” Kwon said.

“It is very difficult and challenging enemy.”

How far do you agree. Give 3 reasons.

I agree strongly with the statements mentioned. This because of the reasons below.
First and foremost, it is because Covid-19 isolation affects our mental health. Few humans
can live in isolation for a prolonged period of time, as it is associated with negative feelings,
especially fear, and can lead to illness, and eventually early death. As social creatures, we need to
connect, communicate, interact, and above all, be touched. The power of physical touch, no matter
how fleeting, from someone we trust, leaves a lasting impact on our wellbeing.Unfortunately, to fight
the challenging war against Covid-19, we’ve all been asked to maintain social distances or quarantine
ourselves if we are suspected to have come into contact with someone who is infected.
Moreover, in a span of weeks, Covid-19 has crashed economies, challenging even the most
well-equipped healthcare systems and disrupting lives on a scale no one has imagined. The effects are
catastrophic- indefinite travel bans, shortage shortage of supplies, massive job losses and dwindling
opportunities.Virus containment measures continue to decrease economic activity. For example, trade
shows and business conferences are cancelling events around the world. Many business people are
cancelling travel and concerned vacationers are rescheduling trips.Obviously, world economy is going
for a breakdown for this 2020.
Furthermore, the global lockdown of education institutions is going to cause interruption in
students learning, disruptions in internal assessment and the cancellation of public assessments for
qualifications or their replacement by an inferior alternative because of this Covid-19 pandemic.
Many countries have rightly decided to close schools, colleges and universities. The crisis crystallises
the dilemma policymakers are facing between closing schools in order to reduce contact and saving
lives.Teaching is moving online, student assessments are also moving online, with a lot of trial and
error and uncertainty for everyone. Many assessments have simply been cancelled. Importantly, these
interupptions will not just be a short-term issue, but can also have a long term consequences for the
affected cohorts and are likely to increase inequality.
As noted above, pandemics are not new to the world, several practices for action have been
recommended by WHO. Always familiarise yourself with the guidelines, as well as those issued by
the Government and follow them precisely. Do disinfect or sanitise frequently.
