be made on the genset controller.

IP address 172.16.1.31 to 172.16.1.38*
Subnet mask 255.255.0.0
Passwords
Password for access to the genset controller by the Hybrid Controller
The Hybrid Controller and communication processor of the IB-COM of a genset controller of the ComAp InteliGen
NTC or ComAp InteliSys NTC series are communicating with each other via Modbus/TCP. For this communication
process, a shared password is necessary. The following requirements must be fulfilled when choosing a shared
password:
• The password must not exceed a maximum length of 16 bit.
• The password must be preset in the genset controller.
• The password settings must be adopted for the parameter ComAp access code of the Hybrid Controller.
Administrator password for write access to parameters of the genset controller by the Hybrid Controller
An administrator password is necessary for write access to parameters of the genset controller by the
Hybrid Controller. The following requirements must be fulfilled when choosing an administrator password:
• The administrator password must not exceed a maximum length of 16 bit.
• The administrator password must be preset in the genset controller.
• The administrator password settings must be adopted for the parameter ComAp admin password of the
Hybrid Controller.
IP Settings
When using the Modbus/TCP communication interface with Ethernet gateway ESENET by proconX, the following IP
settings must be made for the Ethernet gateway ESENET.
IP setting Specified value
IP address 172.16.1.31
Subnet mask 255.255.0.0
Standard gateway 172.16.1.11
Parameter
The following parameters must always be set when using genset controllers of the easYgen 3000 series (manufacturer:
Woodward).
ID Parameter Setting
1702 Device number This parameter assigns each genset controller with a unique address. Each genset con-
troller requires a unique device number.
4071 Alarm class The alarm class of the multi-system parameter alignment may only be set to A or B. This
will ensure that the multi-system parameter alignment is not able to lead to the gensets
being stopped.
5747 Droop tracking Droop tracking must be enabled.
5748 Load sharing in Load sharing in droop mode must be enabled.
droop mode
5752 Start stop mode The function Start stop mode for load-dependent connection and disconnection must
be set to the value Reserve power.
5761 IOP Hysteresis The parameter IOP Hysteresis specifies the disconnection hysteresis for absolute
power management and must be set to a value suitable for the hybrid system:
• If the parameter IOP Hysteresis is set to too low a value, the gensets will have to
start and stop too frequently. Frequent starting and stopping of the gensets can
lead to disturbances in the operating procedure.
• If the parameter IOP Hysteresis is set to too great a value, the gensets will have
to run without interruption for too long and will be subject to greater wear and
tear. The PV power plant can not be used optimally.
8950 Node-ID CAN- The parameter Node-ID CAN-Bus 1 specifies the address with which the genset con-
Bus 1 troller is identified at the CAN bus. This parameter must be set to the same value as the
parameter Device number (ID: 1702).
8962 Selected Data The Selected Data Protocol must be set to the value 5003.
Protocol
9600 COB-ID The COB-ID is an identification number with which the genset controllers communicate
via the Selected Data Protocol (ID: 8962). Each genset controller requires a unique
COB-ID.
9923 Load share In- The function Load share Interface must be set to the value CAN #1. This specifies
terface the interface for communication between genset controller and Hybrid Controller.
ID Parameter Setting
12120 Start req. in Only if the optional function of the Hybrid Controller "Dynamic shutdown of the
AUTO gensets" is used, the following setting must be made:
The function Start. req. in AUTO and the input variable 04.13 Remote start must be
activated in the genset controller and connected via an AND operation.
12510 Operat. mode The Operat. mode AUTO must be activated.
AUTO
12930 Load dep. On/ The function Load dep. on/off. for the load-dependent connection and disconnection
off must be activated.
33040 2. Node ID If a genset controller of the Woodward easYgen 3000 series is connected to the Hy-
brid Controller via a CAN communication interface, and the Ethernet gateway ESENET
is set in parallel, e.g. for an additional monitoring function, then so-called Ser-
vice Data Objects (server SDOs) must be configured in the genset controller. Here, the
identification numbers of the server SDOs 2. Node ID must be set to values from
33 to 65.
IP Settings
When using the Modbus/TCP communication interface with Ethernet gateway ESENET by proconX, the following IP
settings must be made for the Ethernet gateway ESENET.
IP setting Specified value
IP address 172.16.1.31
Subnet mask 255.255.0.0
Standard gateway 172.16.1.11
Compatibility
GENSYS 2.0 genset controllers with firmware version 4.77e2 and from firmware version 5.05 are compatible for use
with the Hybrid Controller.
Modbus interface
The Modbus interface must be set to Port 502 and enabled.
If the genset 1 is connected to digital input DI 1 on the Data Acquisition Module and the utility grid is connected to
digital input DI 2, then the settings on the Hybrid Controller are correct in this example.
If the utility grid is connected to digital input DI 1 on the Data Acquisition Module and the genset 1 is connected to
digital input DI 2, then the settings on the Hybrid Controller are incorrect in this example. Incorrectly configured
devices must be disabled and re-enabled with the correct settings.

6.2.4 Setpoints for the Storage System According to the Rise and Drop of PV
Power
The parameters of the function Ramp rate control can only be set if a battery inverter has been installed.
When using a storage system in hybrid systems: Measurement of PV power via the
measurement inputs of the Hybrid Controller
If a storage system is implemented in the hybrid system, the Hybrid Controller has to calculate the setpoints of the
storage system for the charging and discharging of the battery depending on the PV power. To correctly calculate
the setpoints, the Hybrid Controller requires the data of the PV power in a very high temporal resolution.
For this, a current measurement input and a voltage measurement input of the Hybrid Controller or of the optional
Data Acquisition Module must be used for capturing the PV power. The data transmitted via the internal
communication network of the hybrid system do not have the required resolution.
