ARTICLE: LIFE CYCLE ANALYSIS OF DISTRIBUTED ENERGY SISTEM PROJECT´S
ENERGY CONSUMPTIOM AND GHG EMISSION- A CASE OF BEER BREWERY AUXILIARY
POWER SUPPLY IN CHINA.

The use of distributed energy in the projects is getting stronger because it allows us to meet
the different needs of the users by reducing the losses they have while transporting the energy.
On the other hand, the use of traditional energy is compared with that of distributed energy. ,
since the traditional method requires the use of coal and conventional electricity which
generate large amounts of pollution producing greenhouse gases. It has been unraveled that
using the distributed energy considerably reduces greenhouse gases and generates significant
energy savings

Specific characteristics of a life cycle analysis:

 Systematically evaluate the environmental impacts of the product from the acquisition
of the raw material to the final disposal, taking into account the objectives and scope.
 The level of detail and duration varies depending on the objective and scope
established.
 Provisions are established to respect confidentiality and ownership.
 The methodology may vary to include new scientific findings and improvements to the
technique.
 There is no single method to implement a LCA, it all depends on the organizations and
the application.
 This technique is very different from the others because it is a relative approach based
on a functional unit.
 The AVC does not predict precise or absolute environmental impacts.

System limits
The limits define the processes to be included in the system, the criteria used to establish
the limits of the system must take into account all stages of the life cycle as they are:
 Acquisition of raw material.
 Manufacturing input and output.
 Distribution.
 Production.
 Use and maintenance of products.
 Disposal of waste from both processes and products.
 Recovery of products used.
 Production of secondary materials.Specific characteristics of a life cycle analysis.

Life Cycle AnalysisBecomes a Main Streamof Evaluation Methods
Strachan  N  et  al. Investigates  the  difference  of  emission  between  Distributed  Energy
System  and
traditional  energy  system,  providing  insights  about  sensitivity  factors  like  HPR
(HeatPower  Ratio) and discussing about several specific scenarios. The authors emphasized
that the coefficients may vary across
time and the value of different projects are subject to the users’ demand and location, showing
that case studies are important in this stream of research. Romero et al. investigates 5 cases
(Distributed Energy  Systems in green buildings) in Spain and e valuates their performance.
The research eliminates scenarios
of selling electricity to the grid and energy storage but includes scenarios of different fuel
prices, using LCA method to evaluate the influence on the environment. The research builds a
framework of location we at he relectricity  demand/solar  condition,  contributing  to  the
literature  in  the  aspect  of  seasonality  of
Distributes  Energy  System’s  operation.  Wheeley  et  al. uses  NPV  calculation  to  evaluate
the
performance of Heat Electricity co generation projects, with scenarios of selling residual fuel.

Hello Everyone
I share information for padlet
ISO 14040

Given the importance of environmental protection on the products consumed and the impacts
they bring, multiple techniques have been used in order to understand and treat these
problems among these is the life cycle analysis; which helps us recognize the opportunities of
products within their different stages of their life cycle, thus improving their environmental
performance, also allows the formulation of environmental indicators and marketing.
The four phases for a life cycle analysis are:

 Object definition and scope.

 Inventory analysis phase.
 Environmental impact assessment phase.
 Interpretation phase
