3. High Infant and Adult Morbidity from Communicable Diseases

1. Nature of the Problem 2/3x1 2/3 These poor conditions are considered as
a threat to the community.

2. Magnitude of the Problem 4/4x3 3 All of the population are at risk for
acquiring the disease due to crowding
and poor ventilation. 73.3% of the
surveyed earning individuals in the
barangay are also vendors; 40% of the
studied infants in the barangay are not
immunized with DPT and PCV
3. Modifiability of the 1/3x4 1 1/3 The community does not have adequate
Problem space in order to solve the spread of the
communicable disease. Funds will be
also needed to provide necessary
vaccines to at least control the possible
outbreak of the disease.
4. Preventive Potential 2/3x1 2/3 Despite having a crowded barangay, if
there will be a program having free
vaccines, the problem can be controlled.
Also, if the people from the barangay are
knowledgeable about communicable
disease, this can allow them to be aware
and provide the following safety
precautions.

the community because this may be fatal
to those who are at risk, especially those
who did not have a complete set of
vaccine. Health should also always be a

earning individuals (40.4% as of Table 4).

predominantly composed of individuals
on the adolescent and young adult group
and is considered to be the studying and
working group.

Problem only a risk, therefore, it can be avoided if
proper preventive measures will be
formed.

related to this can be prevented by
conducting free seminars that spread
mental health awareness, also by having
programs that will improve employment.

7. High Incidence of Upper Respiratory Tract Infection among residents of Brgy. New Mexico, Manila

1. Nature of the Problem 1/3x2 2/3 These poor conditions are considered as
a threat to the community.

2. Magnitude of the Problem 4/4x3 3 A total of 1,460 people who suffered


from Upper Respiratory Tract Infection
in 2019.
3. Modifiability of the 2/3x2 1 1/3 The problem is moderately modifiable, if

correct ways to control the spread of a
disease such as having certain protocols
as well as utilize a teaching program,
then the risk of having Upper Respiratory
Tract Infection will be minimized. This
however, will be challenging due to the
crowded community.

many of the inhabitants do not have
