    Part 1. MONOLOGUE
    Time: 3 minutes
    Topic: Books and Reading
    Task: Look at the pictures and answer the questions below.

     What can you see in these pictures? Describe each situation: people and activities.
     In your opinion, how are these people feeling? Why do you think so?
     Which is better – to borrow books from the library or to buy books? Why do you think so?
     Do you / your family / classmates discuss the books you have read? Why / Why not?

    Part 2. DIALOGUE
    Time: 3–4 minutes
    Topic: Shrove Tuesday (Užgavėnės)
    Situation: Your class is organising a school celebration of the traditional calendar holiday „Užgavėnės“
    (Shrove Tuesday). Your partner and you are discussing the details of the event.

    Task: Exchange your ideas about the following:


     Who could participate in the celebration and why?
     What activities could be done on this day and why?
     What preparations are needed and why?

    Tip: For each question, give your own ideas and respond to your partner’s ideas.
    Try to reach an agreement.

    You start the conversation.
