SPA Vijayawada invites candidates for walk-in interviews to the following faculty positions
purely on ad-hoc basis. Interested candidates may appear for the interview on 15th June, 2017,
9.30 AM onwards:

A) Dept. of Architecture:

Eligibility criteria and other details for Assistant Professor positions at Department of
Architecture, on ad-hoc/ contract basis are as follows:

Essential qualifications:
# Specialisation – Architecture: (11 posts)
Bachelors Degree in Architecture AND Masters Degree in Architecture or related discipline with
First Class or equivalent either in Bachelors or Masters Degree.

*Specialisation – Engineering: (1 post)

Bachelors AND Masters Degree in Engineering or Technology (Civil/Structural) with first class
or equivalent either in Bachelors or Masters Degree.

$ Specialisation – Fine Arts: (1 post)

Bachelors AND Masters Degree in Fine Arts with specialisation in painting, sculpture, applied
art or art history & art criticism, with first class or equivalent either in Bachelors or Masters
Degree.

Where, for the above:

i. Equivalence of First Class is a minimum of 60% in aggregate, if a class or division is not
awarded.

Desirable aspects:
i. ONE (01) year experience in teaching and/or research and/or industry in a reputed
organization;
ii. Papers presented at Conferences and/or in refereed journals.
iii. Specialization for Architecture : Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Sustainable
Architecture, Conservation

B) Dept. of Planning:

Assistant Professor 02 (two)

Eligibility criteria and other details for Assistant Professor positions at Department of
Planning, on ad-hoc/ contract basis are as follows:

Essential qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Architecture/Planning/Technology/Engineering AND Masters Degree in
Planning with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelors or Masters Degree.

OR

Masters Degree in Economics/Geography/Sociology AND a Masters Degree in Planning with

First Class or equivalent in BOTH the two Masters degrees.

Where, for the above:

i. Equivalence of First Class is a minimum of 60% in aggregate, if a class or division is not
awarded.

Desirable aspects :
i. ONE (01) year experience in teaching and/or research and/or industry in a reputed
organization;
ii. Papers presented at Conferences and/or in refereed journals.
iii. Specialization: Environmental Planning / Transportation Planning / Urban and Regional
Planning

General terms and conditions:

1. Ad-hoc/contract appointment shall be made for a period of one (01) semester from
Jun/Jul 2017 to Dec 2017 or till the regular faculty joins, whichever is earlier, purely on
contract basis on a consolidated salary of *Rs.55,000/- per month for possessing P.G.
Degree and *Rs.65,000/- for possessing Ph.D Degree (*including Mobile allowance
Rs.1,000/- and Transport Allowance Rs.3,000/-).
2. Candidates fulfilling above eligibility criteria may visit the Institute with duly filled
application form available at www.spav.ac.in, with a covering letter addressed to
Director, SPA Vijayawada, along with the following in original and one self attested
copy:

i. UG and PG Degree Certificates, Marks Certificates

ii. CoA Registration Certificate (applicable for posts in Architecture only)
iii. Experience Certificates

3. Adequate computer proficiency is essential for all the faculty positions.

4. The Institute reserves the right to decide the number of posts in respective position.
5. Reservation in recruitment will be as per the Government of India norms.
6. An applicant has to ensure authenticity of information, documents and
photograph.
7. No TA / DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the walk-in- interview.
8. Candidates having Foreign Universities’ Degrees should produce ‘Equivalence
Certificate’ from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
9. Keeping in view of the regular faculty notification issued in the recent past, the present
ad-hoc selection is purely temporary and on contract basis.
10. Candidates have to report at SPA Vijayawada campus at 9:00 AM on 15th June, 2017
11. Candidate may be asked to make a Power Point Presentation on a topic of their interest,
during the interview.
