Advantages and Disadvantages of Travelling by plane

Did you know that flying is the safest way to travel? The only thing you need to do
is check-in, welcome the captain, sit back, and enjoy the best part of your trip. But
even this mode of transport has both advantages and disadvantages.

To start with, it’s easy and very fast, so that you can quickly get from one point to
another. For instance, a flight to Germany takes only 3 hours; however, a trip from
Kyiv to Berlin by bus takes 24 hours. When you need to travel long distance you
don’t have other options to take into consideration because otherwise, you will
waste time and money on your trip. In such situations planes are the most
convenient method for businessmen, because they can use the time more
efficiently.

Secondly, to be thousands of feet above the earth is the greatest experience ever.
Seeing everything from above is always special – the clouds, the colors, the
sunsets, the stars, and what a feeling you’ll have when you fly in the clouds.
Flights provide a new perspective that can feel like a break from time itself.
People can also feel like a bird while they are flying, and that’s perfect. And
eventually, when you walk off the plane, you can enjoy a brand new culture and
country.

Moreover, it’s relatively cheap nowadays, because there are special fares, sales and
you can book your e-ticket at a low price. Even longer flights with standard
airlines seem inexpensive, when you consider how far you’re travelling.

Additionally, you can meet some awesome people on planes, all with cool stories
and friendly faces, who will make your flight unbelievable. You can also have a
wonderful time, not only on plane, but also at the airport. For example, Singapore
Changi is the best airport in the world, there are free cinemas, free computer
games, free music video, CD listening stations, and a free karaoke-style music
studio. You can even visit the gym, get massages and beauty treatments there.

On the other hand, flying is extremely bad for the environment. Planes release
enormous amounts of carbon dioxide into the air, which is the exact opposite of
what we should be doing to avert global warming.

What’s more, planes are unreliable as they depend on the weather forecast.
Normally if the weather is not certain the flight may get delayed or even cancelled.
At the same time, flights can be uncomfortable, as most of the time you have to be
seated and fastened. There is a lack of space, especially for legs. It can also make
sleeping or visiting a restroom, which is too small, a challenge.

Needless to say, that some people are scared of flying. For them, such a trip would
be a disaster. The prospect of hours on a plane can be enough to discourage them
from even taking the journey. Air transport’s never fun when fear’s a factor.

All things considered, planes can be as much of a paradise as a hell for someone,
but one thing is known for sure: planes are the safest means of transport.
