1. Name two gasses causing global warming.

Ans: The gases that has caused global warming are Carbon dioxide and chloroflorocarbons.

2. Explain how human activities cause the increase of production of these gasses?

Ans: The use of air-conditioning, refrigeration, blowing agents in foams, insulation and packing
materials, propellants in aerosol cans causes the production of Chloroflorocarbons. Human activities
that contribute in increasing the amount of carbondioxide in the atmosphere is increasing population,
intensive animal farming, cut down of trees and burning of non-renewable resource mainly fossil fuel.

3. How does the greenhouse effect relate to the global warming?

Ans: The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the earth’s surface. When sun’s energy
reaches the earth’s atmosphere most of it reflected back but some of it is let in and that energy warms
the atmosphere and surface of the earth. The layer that reflects most of the energy is known as the
ozone layer. Gases such as chloroflorocarbons, when released in air damages the ozone layer. This
causes harmful radiations to enter the earth. These radiations contribute a lot to warm the earth’s
atmosphere than the required amount.
