What is the Strategic Assessment Report?

The Western Australian Government proposes to develop a LNG processing precinct 60 km north of Broome to ensure that the Kimberley
and Western Australia benefit from the development of gas resources in the offshore Browse Basin.
The Strategic Assessment Report describes the proposal, examines the likely environmental and social effects and outlines the proposed
environmental management procedures. The Strategic Assessment Report (six parts) was released for public comment on Monday
13 December 2010.
Part 7: Supplementary Information addresses wastewater discharges, oil spills, marine plants and coastal processes and was released in
February for consideration during the public review period for the Strategic Assessment Report.

People interested in the project are encouraged to read the report and have their say during the public comment period.
Everyone now has until Monday 28 March 2011 to comment on the Strategic Assessment Report and the Supplementary
Information (all seven parts) via submissions to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
To read and download any sections of the report go to the EPA consultation portal at
http://public-consult.epa.wa.gov.au or www.dsd.wa.gov.au/BrowseSAR.
