Job demand for an Aircraft Maintenance Technician

The ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) recently hosted a five-day event to face
up to the challenge of the shortage expected in the near future for skilled professionals in the
aviation sector.
At the meeting were invited representatives of the Member States, industry and educational
institutions and together defined the problem and proposed approaches to solve it.
After the meeting the result was that...

 In the next 20 years, airlines will introduce 25,000 new aircraft to current commercial fleet of
17,000;

 within 2026, the air operators will need more than 480.000 new technicians to guarantee the
efficiency of these aircraft.
