Instruktional Design Class D

1) Small Group Discussion: Small group discussions are one way of learning that can be used in
the classroom that can streamline classroom learning. Small group discussions are usually
carried out after the teacher explains the material being discussed, and the use of this activity
can shape students to learn and exchange ideas.

 Strength: This teaching method is more comfortable for students and also easier to
understand.
 Weaknesses: Discussions are usually more time-consuming or inefficient, create
dependence on the group and can lead to domination.

2) Role-Play & Simulation: Role playing is a method used to design students to be more
independent. Role playing also aims to provide opportunities for students to participate in
class, and this method the teacher can provide an overview for students to be able to explore
existing material.

 Strength: Role play helps students understand the problems they are facing and foster a
caring attitude towards others.
 Weakness: It often happens that students forget the contents of the script so that it
affects their performance.

3) Self-Directed Learning (SDL): This learning method requires students to be independent in

learning activities. Students are required to be versatile and know the material to be taught.
The teacher's job here is only to evaluate and provide an assessment at the end of the lesson.
So, the teacher must think about how to fulfill the learning objectives so that students can
understand the material clearly.

 Strengths: Students will be more independent, teaching and learning activities will be
more effective, the classroom atmosphere is calmer and more conducive.
 Weaknesses: This will create an imbalance between students who already understand
and students who still don't.

4) Cooperative Learning (CL): This method uses groups to study. This method is similar to a
small discussion, the difference in cooperative learning is that we are required to work together
between group members. Usually the cooperative learning members are between 2-5 people.
In this method of learning activities students are invited to be active in learning and thinking
critically.

 Strengths: In this learning method, it can strengthen relationships between students,

inviting students to think critically.
 Weakness: It creates a grading system which could be considered unfair, It creates new
systems of socialization structure that are not always beneficial, It places a teacher's
responsibility onto their.

5). Collaborative Learning (CBL): Collaborative learning method is an educational approach

using groups to enhance learning through collaboration. Through this method groups of two or
more students work together to solve problems, complete assignments, or learn new learning
concepts.

 Strengths: Develop self-management and leadership skills, Improve employee skills and
knowledge, Improve relationships between teams and departments.
 Weaknesses: People need to go at a different pace, someone might try to take over the
group, a quiet person might feel uncomfortable.

6) Contextual Instructions (CI): The learning method used by the teacher is by connecting
events in everyday life with existing material. Of course this will make it easier for students to
understand the material being taught because it uses easy and simple understanding concepts.
Therefore, this method can incorporate knowledge and its application in everyday life.

 Strengths: Students will easily absorb and shorten the time to explain the material.
 Weaknesses: Students who do not have this experience will be confused about what
really happened so that there is a miss of communication in the learning process.

7). Project Based Learning (PjBL): In this method "Project-based learning is a comprehensive
perspective that is focused on teaching by involving students in inquiry. In this framework,
students pursue solutions to problems that are not simple by asking questions and refining
them, debating opinions, making predictions, designing plans or experimenting, collecting and
analyzing data, drawing conclusions, communicating their ideas and findings to others, asking
questions. new.

 Strengths: Can increase student motivation to learn, improve student academic

achievement, and can improve cooperation or collaboration skills.
 Weakness: This Implementing project-based learning in the classroom may be scary for
some experienced teachers and it will be even worse for novice teachers.
8) Problem Based Learning and Inquiry (PBL): In this method, students are usually given a
problem or problem that is happening, then they are asked to think critically to find answers or
maybe a way out of the problem. Usually the problem that exists is a problem that is around it
so that students can think of the best solution to the problem.

 Strengths: Students can be active in the classroom to think critically and be sensitive to
surrounding problems.
 Weaknesses: This will often lead to debates and differences of opinion between
students and cause a scene in class.
