four (4) functions. Emphasize how each role contributes to the effectiveness of the group.

Planning

The BSTM students was assigned to conduct an outreach program as their task performance for their
NSTP subject. The professor chose students who will stand as a leader in a group. Now, one of the
leaders which is Kyanna, made a group chat and add all her members. She explained all of the things
that needs to be discuss such as where they will conduct the said program, who will be the participants,
what are the things they will be needing, and more important details. This role contributes to the
effectiveness of the group in a way that, planning will help us achieve our purpose. Planning Helps
Leaders Set Expectations. One of the main benefits of planning is that it acts as a communication tool.

Organizing

Now, Kyanna and her team members already know what are the plans. Now, Kyanna tell her members
that they will be having a meeting in zoom to organize the program that they will be doing. At exactly
6:30 PM they started the meeting. First, Kyanna tell the flow of the program, she discuss every single
details such as the time it will start and end, what is the first thing they will do, the second, and so on
and so forth. After organizing the said program, she ask her group members where they want to be
assigned is it in cooking the food? is it in buying the products they will be needing? is it in facilitating the
program, and etc. After she asked her members, she assigned them to the tasks they are capable with.
This role contributes to the effectiveness of the group in a way that, organizing ensures effective role-
job-fit for every members in the group. It helps in avoiding confusion and delays, as well as duplication
of work and overlapping of effort. Organizing creates the framework needed to reach a company's
objectives and goals.

Leading

The day before the execution of the program, one of the members in the group of Kyanna reach her out
and said that she is not good with communicating and shy to socialize with many people and she think
that she can not do the said program. As a leader, Kyanna gather her members and talk to all of them
she boosted their confidence and taught them what to do. Kyanna assures to assists them and promise
to help each other if ever the execution of the program will have some problem. All of the members are
now confident and ready to give their best to the said program. It is stated in the handouts that, Leaders
must think about how to motivate the team best to achieve the goal and that is what Kyanna did. This
role contributes to the effectiveness of the group in a way that, it ensures the team to have a successful
goal. To effectively lead a group, start by building trust and goodwill among the group members. Aside
from that, leading is a very important function of a group or organization. It always helps to minimize
deficiency and achieve the group goals and objectives.
Controlling

Time has come where Kyanna and her group members will execute the said program. When they are at
the venue Kyanna observe the actions of her members, but she is not controlling them. One of the
members did not mean to drop the cup of noodles, the noodle that was prepared by their group
become insufficient because of the incident. The leader which is Kyanna think of an alternative way to
fulfill the noodles, what she did is that she gave the person who is supposed to receive the noodles
three (3) biscuits in exchange. Kyanna did not blame or bad mouth her member, she said that it is okay,
and the program must go on. The program become successful. This role contributes to the effectiveness
of the group in a way that, Controlling helps in improving the performance of the members. Controlling
insists on continuous check on the members and evaluation helps in creating an atmosphere of order
and discipline. As you noticed, the leader takes corrective measures so that the performance takes place
according to plans. The incident did not affect the whole program as the leader and the members
perform their job accordingly. Under controlling function, it is made sure that members are aware of
