1. What is a multimodal text?


Multimodal text based on my understanding means using more than one mode a time, it is
when you combine pictures or words. Modes is when we use different processes when we are
communicating. These are the examples of Modes: reading, writing, listening, speaking, and
viewing. 
2. Find an example of multimodal text in the form of an image. Then, analyze and discuss its
content. Do not forget to attach a copy in the drop box and/or include its link in your work.
I chose this because it has more than one mode and these are the visual and linguistic or
alphabetic modes. As you can see, the visual below shows the image and characters that people
see. And the linguistic is the “no smoking” words that was used to express the signage or the
idea that the signage wants to convey. Multimodal texts here shows the importance of
relationship between different modes and aside from that it helps various aspects contents
express the ways of different resources.
