Besides Slavery How Do

You Get Others To Do
What You Want?
Is There A Difference Between
Manipulation & Persuasion?
❖ Ugly Truths of Human Nature

We are all manipulators. And since few of us can accept this, most of us are not only

hypocrites, but also less effective in our communications with others as we could be.

Our biggest impediment to understanding and influencing human behavior is that our

sense of morality unconsciously filters our perceptions of others and as a result,

invisibly alters the way we interact with them.

What Is The Difference Between Attention
Capture & Paying Attention

If you are paying attention to something you still have an awareness

of yourself at the moment, therefore, you have control over the
encounter.
When your attention is captured, we lose all sense of ourselves and
don’t have any conscious control in the moment of our mental state.
What Do Pain and Pleasure Have To Do
With Persuasion?
We have a mechanism inside of us that drives us either toward what we believe to be
pleasure or away from what we believe to be a pain in our life.
The crazy thing is that we will move towards the pleasure even if it causes our grief.
Many people live by this concept and feel that it is the only thing you need to get
people to take action.
The Bait We All Fall For
❖ INGONGRUITY
We become very susceptible to suggestion once
we've identified an incongruity and try to resolve
it. The funny thing is we will often accept the first
answer that seems to make sense of the
incongruity, even if the answer is given by the
person who created the incongruity in the first
place!
