Recommendations for Further Development


TESCO is a well-performed company which is running its operation for about 100 years. It started its
online shopping from the year 1996 (Campaignlive.co.uk, 2019). By its struggles it has become one of
the top chain stores and online market in U.K. If TESCO wants to improve its service to the customers
and hold the position in the market, there are some recommendation which it should follow.

1. Being Innovative: TESCO is one of the largest chain shops in the United Kingdom. It started its
operation with mobile parts and electronics. Because of the demand for electronics, their
business runs so smoothly. But if they want to hold this position, they need to innovate
something new for customer satisfaction. If they can innovate, the customers can be more
attracted to the organization because they already have a huge amount of market share.
2. Differentiating: Retail markets are always in competition. They have to prove themselves for
holding the market. So, TESCO also should do something different by which the customers can
think about the brand once again. The differentiate may lie within the quality of the product or
other sectors.
3. Democratic Leadership Style: TESCO has been following the bureaucratic leadership style for
the employees. This leadership style is needed when employees don't want to work. But for
moving into a better relationship between the leader and the employees, TESCO can follow a
democratic leadership style as it motivates the employees and helps to achieve the
organizational goal.
4. Scientific Management Practices: TESCO can use scientific management style for a better result
in the organization if they want to keep pace with the outer world and other competitors.
5. Spreading Abroad: TESCO is a famous brand in the U.K. But they don't have many activities
outside of the U.K. They even don't have many promotional strategies. So, they can spread their
business in other countries also. So, their brand becomes a global brand.
6. Specific Objectives: The specific objective means the vision. As TESCO wants to maximize the
market share and spread the business outside of the U.K. So, they need to work like that. For
this, they can use many strategies and they can set their own missions to achieve the specific
objectives.

In this way, TESCO may develop its business both within and outside of the United Kingdom.

Conclusions
TESCO is running the business since 1919, about 23 years have passed since they have started their
online process. Though it faced some problems with the market and the online sector. Now, they have
become one of the largest companies in the U.K. It is competing with the other brands in the same field.
For expanding and developing a business, there are many strategies that have to be taken. They want to
expand their business outside of U.K and for that, they need to change some of their practices. For
expanding, they need to follow the strategies and ways described in the report. By following those, they
can be a success in both inside and outside of U.K.
