AI is one of the greatest technological discovery in today’s digital world. AI as a

powerful tool have provided solutions in almost all types of problem including in the
business industry. In relation to this, AI have helped change the scenario in the online
store network. It added an excessive number of valuable elements and features to the
online store.
Lazada as one of the top used online store applications is now offering an AI
experience. Lazada collects and stores data and information about the user through the
use of Google Analytics which is now capable of providing the online stores information
like user’s location, user’s browser, device and other details. Every piece of data gathered
is being analyzed to provide user a deeper level of personal experience. This
personalization results into timely alerts, messages, visuals that should be particularly
interesting to the user, and changes according to users’ demand and supply.

Below are the examples of Artificial Intelligence used in Lazada:

 Advance Visual Search Engine.

With a simple click, the user can get appropriate and desired results. An
image can be helpful to find a better size, color, and quality to identify product
brands and names on search engines. Depending on the image, the user can
achieve the desired result.

Product recommendation gives users a customized touch experience.

Search engine analysis, in coordination with AI, identifies user preferences
related to the brands they follow.

 Voice Assistance

Due to the voice assistant on the online store, the user doesn't need to
type every time. As a result of this, it offers a more human and personal touch to
the online shopping experience.

It’s not that we make an effort to receive emails about the products, it receives
emails about the products that we are not interested in. AI gives email marketing
a whole new life, helping to make campaigns more optimized and targeted for the
recipient.

In terms of networking, Lazada has the feed section wherein you can find reviews
of products from satisfied customers. Through this Lazada is able to provide proof of
satisfaction and reliability to customers which create a network of people being engaged
to shop more. Also, it uses different social network platforms such as Facebook, Twitter,

In today’s modern society, technology in collaboration with internet and the

adoption of artificial intelligence and networking has greatly affected the people’s way of
living. As it is becoming more widely used, you can almost find anything with the use of
internet providing an easier access with the implementation of artificial intelligence and
networking. It offers different kinds of applications that serve distinct functions that help
people to explore and experience the internet world on a different level. One of the
trending online application that people are so engaged in using are the online stores.
Lazada with over 560 million consumers in the region through its marketplace platform,
supported by a wide range of tailored marketing, data and service solutions. With 300
million SKUs available, Lazada offers the widest range of products in categories from
consumer electronics to household goods, toys, fashion, sports equipment and
groceries. Focused on delivering an excellent customer experience, it offers multiple
payment methods including cash-on-delivery, comprehensive customer care and

Based on my personal experience with the application itself. I find it very helpful
in terms of finding and choosing the products that I prefer. It provides a wide selection of
products of different brands. Product details and recommendation, allows you to
understand more about the product and suggests related product of your choice. Also,
the comments and reviews give off an assurance of the quality and legitimacy of the
product.
Features of Lazada app includes the voice search which provides an ease for
less keypad interaction, camera wherein you search any product you want by just
capturing the same item, message section where you can directly communicate with the
seller, cart button to be able to check for updates of your purchases, account button
where you can check your Lazada wallet, shipment, returns, cancellations and a chat
button which will lead you to customer care.
Overall, the Lazada is one of the best choices in online shopping. It enables you
to save money, time and patience. And, it allows you to seek and compare deals of the
different products, prices and quality of different sellers at the same time.

CRITIQUE

Through the rapid growth of population, some people are unable to go to the mall
and shop for themselves. Thus, with the technological advancement of internet, online
store applications have paved its way by creating a massive number of people shopping
online. Furthermore, Lazada as one of the leading online stores continuously provide its
customers span of choices ensuring high quality and hassle-free transactions.
The Lazada app provided people an experience wherein just one click you can
have an item of your choice with a considerable price. Lazada app has different features
and sections which you can actually use freely and easily. As it is powered by artificial
intelligence, people using the app can easily shop since AI monitors the categories of
products you mostly buy. However, there are cases of scam which I think Lazada
haven’t really solved yet. For instance, the products you see in the pictures is different
from the one you will receive, orders sometimes get cancelled without notice and some
products cannot be replaced or non-refundable.
Although Lazada has been one of the most used online stores still it has
something to improve especially in providing its customers security.

For the application to survive a long time, what innovation can you suggest to
add? Why?

A better way to make the Lazada to survive a long time is to add security system when
it comes to the legitimacy of the sellers and products since most issues/ problem faced
by the consumer is the fake sellers selling low class items. This can be part of the
application itself with just the proper implementation of AI.
GRAB POWERED BY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND NETWORKING

Artificial Intelligence and Networking have greatly contributed to the advancement of

different aspects of the modern world. Transportation for example have taken into the
next level and adopted the latest technology of the 21 st century. An iOS/android
application called “Grab” is one of the hottest developments of the transport system.
Grab assigns taxis and private hire cars to nearby commuters through a location-
sharing system.

Below are the areas where Artificial Intelligence is applied in Grab:

 Passenger

In terms of passenger, Grab uses AI algorithms to help better understand

your needs, intentions and preferences by simply having options of your
preferred type of car and if you have a pet, there is a designated type of vehicle.

 Driver

In terms of driver selection, grab developed AI algorithms to understand

their preferences by learning about things like their preferred neighbourhoods, in
terms of pick-up and drop-off locations and timings. So that when there’s a job
demand, they will direct it to the right driver.

 Traffic

Traffic congestion in cities across Southeast Asia is some of the worst in

the world. Thus, grab drivers uses GPS or Global Positioning System powered
by Artificial Intelligence which help them track/find the shortest and fastest
possible route.

In terms of networking, grab is able to expand its network within South East Asian
region. Also, as GPS serves an important role in Grab it uses GPS networking products
for distributed antenna systems (DAS) and RF networks. It has  global navigation
satellite system (GNSS) that provides geolocation and time information to a GPS
receiver anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to
four or more GPS satellites. Therefore, it needs a stable network for accurate locations.
Lastly, grab drivers are like computers connected by a network that help them to easily
communicate with each other.

The Grab app is very helpful in many ways most especially when you are in a
hurry since this app goes directly where you are at and will provide you the nearest
driver from your location. It is a safe and convenient ride in a city such as Manila.
Experiencing the grab app on hand is quite good since it will give you more than what
you expect.
A way to ensure the passenger’s safety, Grab provides the information about the
driver and registration of the car. For your own convenience, methods of payment can
be through a card or cash. Experiencing grab on hand, it is very easy to use and with
just a matter of seconds it will already locate you, your travel and provide you a driver.b
Grab features includes GrabPay wallet wherein you cash in or transfer money
from your bank account so it is easier for you to pay. It has Activity section wherein you
can check your previous and latest bookings. It also has rewards which comes with
points that you actually gain each time you book grab.
When it comes to the pricing of fee ride, grab uses AI to calculate the right
amount of payment depending on the distance of your current location to your dropping
point. Furthermore, grab has a network connecting all drivers having an easier mode of
transferring information and transactions.

CRITIQUE

A part of anyone’s daily life is to travel into places such as school, work,
appointments, and more. With the tremendous amount of traffic that people are
experiencing, public transport vehicle such as jeepneys, tricycle, LRT and MRT can add
stress to the commuter. However, application such as Grab provides convenience ride
to different types of commuters.
Grab app allows users to be located in just one tap. It will lead you to the nearest
driver from your area. Giving you the shortest route possible. Grab app according to
most people is better that taxi since your bill will be fixed depending on the distance of
your travel. Moreover, with grab latest update it also offers food delivery from different
restaurant of your choice.
Thus, most problems encountered with grab is with the drivers since some
drivers denies booking if routes around your area is on a heavy traffic zone.
Encountering this kind of scenario, people prefer to ride taxi or different type of public
transport. However, based on my own experience I still choose to use grab since it is
safer and more accessible.
For the application to survive a long time, what innovation can you suggest to
add? Why?

To add substance to the Grab app it is a better idea to improve its AI algorithms in
locating pick up points and to track traffic-free routes. Also, the detection of
unusual/abnormal driving mechanism for additional safety of both the passenger and
the driver.

Entering the game for the first time will lead to on a tutorial mode and will provide
you free heroes to practice skills and abilities like you are already playing on the real
battle field. The game has different modes including classic mode, rank mode, brawl, vs
AI mode, custom mode and arcade mode. The most interesting about these modes is
the vs AI which players will be automatically paired with AI controlled players. This gives
them time to practice their characters than playing on other modes such as ranked or
classic.

winning ang loosing battles. It is connected to different networks like google play
games, facebook and many more. Using AI, it also tracks your location and will give you
options of the type of your language. As per this setting, it depends directly on your
region.
AI is a very useful tool with this type of mobile game since almost all its features
depends on AI. For instance, the rewards which is observed with the players
performance and achievements.

Mobile Legends is a very popular mobile app not only nationwide but worldwide.
As it constantly builds its network of players, the game itself is improving not only with

option which help the players communicate effectively with its allies. Each hero has their

However, problems were also encountered with the game. One is other players

Interesting ideas comes to mind when thinking of how to provide another innovation to
mobile legends. First is the implementation of voice interaction that will study your
playing pattern and will help you choose your character based on your previous battles.
Last is the automatic changing of player when he/she got AFK or have lost connection
to the game. By this, both team can have a play fair.

continuously increased and one of the most used application powered by internet are
the social media applications. These applications do not only run through the use of
internet but also with what we call AI or Artificial intelligence and Networking. Interaction
among AI happens to us every day without us knowing. Staring with the push
notification on our mobile phones, the email newsletter of our favorite website, or the
videos recommended to you while binge-watching are being powered by machine-
learning algorithms that rely on huge amounts of data to make smart decisions about
the media you’d be inclined to consume.
One example for this is YouTube’s content recommendations. In its early days,

Personally, I use youtube to watch videos from my favorite influencers. Most

video recommendations I get is the same content I mostly watch. Youtube content
includes video clips, TV show clips, music videos, short and documentary films, audio
recordings, movie trailers, live streams, and other content such as video blogging, short
original videos, and educational videos. Most videos are uploaded by different
youtubers. Youtube manages unregistered users by restricting to only watch videos on
the site, while registered users are permitted to upload an unlimited number of videos
and add comments to videos. Videos deemed potentially inappropriate are available
only to registered users affirming themselves to be at least 18 years old.

Google being known as one of the biggest companies in the world providing
internet related services have provided an app that functions through AI called G-mail or
Google Mail. In order for the user to have a gmail first you must have a google account.
But the thing is what is the purpose of having gmail since there are already
available electronic mailing sites and app. What G-mail do is they use smart replies,
Gmail offers suggested responses to the email you’re reading. Aside from storing
messages and your mail-based transactions. The system is also able to understand
what’s written thanks to AI tech like natural language processing (NLP). G-mail
compared with other email applications has substantial storage enough for your files.

Using Gmail is more convenient since Im now an android user. It gives me an
easier access on my other social media accounts. It notifies me whenever there is a
need of an update. It has different features that allows to manage your messages.
At present, almost all people have their own gmail since it is a requirement
especially when your are seeking a job. Gmail has neural networks connected locally
and internationally that allow its user to send and receive messages, files, photos and
other attachments.
On my point of view, it is very useful among students because it offers large storage of
files.

Gmail can be used to log in to almost all websites, applications and internet-
based platforms. It provides you security from your different social media accounts.
Since most applications requires email, gmail helps you secure your account by sending
notifications through AI whenever it detects unusual activity. Providing you different
ways on how to make your account safe by providing a setting of changing your
password regularly. And also, it monitors spam messages separating it from your other
messages.
However, like any other applications it also has negative side. One of the top
things most users get annoyed with is the endless emails from different advertising
companies and websites you logged into. Gmail does not have a control of this since
users are the ones who got themselves involved. But the thing is gmail should block
some messages which I think is irrelevant. Although it keeps a track of spam messages,
some messages which they considered spam are actually not a spam material.
For the application to survive a long time, what innovation can you suggest to
add? Why?

When it comes to gmail, the innovation I suggest is the adoption of voice

interactive like AI Jarvis of iron man. It seems hard but quite possible. The thing is our
gmail contain most of our personal messages among our friends, colleagues,
workmates or even our boss. If this can be properly executed then it can provide its
users security and confidentially with their personal files and transactions.
