Mini Golf Trigonometry

Mini Golf is a game filled with Geometry. It is all about angles and forming
triangles to get the best shot. This week’s project will require you to apply
your knowledge of Trigonometry to find the best path for each hole in the
mini golf course.

For each hole in the mini golf course the best route is outlined.

Requirements
For the four putting greens you must:
● Divide the picture into triangles (right or otherwise)
● Find all sides and angles of the triangle
o Show which type of trigonometry equation you used
● Find total distance the ball travelled
● Show all your work for each problem

Overall, you must:

● Use Sine, Cosine, and Tangent at least once
● Use Inverse Sine, Cosine, and Tangent at least once
● Use the Law of Sines at least once
● Use the Law of Cosines at least once

Make up your own putting green

● One drawing with all the answers (angles and sides)
● Draw all triangles
● Show all calculations
● Total distance ball traveled

Example:

Step 1: Draw a triangle

Step 2: Label sides that I know
Step 3: Label right angle
Step 4: Use Pythagorean
Theorem to find the
hypotenuse
Step 5: Use trig to find one
angle
Step 6: Use angle properties to
find the final angle
Step 7: Find total distance ball
traveled: 20
