Vocabulary Matematika Dasar

 (+) ; plus : tambah

Contoh :
3 + 4 : three plus four : tiga tambah 4
10 + 10 : ten plus ten : sepuluh tambah sepuluh

 (-) : minus ; kurang

Contoh  :
8 - 2 : eight minus two : delapan kurang dua
35 - 15 : thirty five minus fifteen : tiga puluh lima kurang lima belas

 (x) atau (*) : times : kali

Contoh:
7 x 4 : seven times four : tujuh kali empat
62 * 21 : sixty two times twenty one : enam puluh dua kali dua puluh satu

 (÷) atau (/): divided by : bagi

Contoh:
10 ÷ 2 : ten divided by two ; sepuluh dibagi dua
50 / 10 : fifty divided by ten : lima puluh dibagi sepuluh

 (=) : equals : sama dengan

Contoh:
10 + 4 = 14 ten plus four equals fourteen -- sepuluh tambah empat sama dengan empat belas
5 x 3 = 15 : five times three equals fifteen : lima kali tiga sama dengan lima belas

 (<) : is less than : lebih kecil dari 

Contoh:
8 < 15 : eight is less than fifteen : delapan lebih kecil dari lima belas

 (>) : is greater than : lebih besar dari 

Contoh:
15 > 8 : fifteen is greater than eight : lima belas lebih besar dari delapan

Menanyakan angka menggunakan kalimat:

1. What number is it?   (15)
    (Angka berapakah itu?)
     It is number fifteen.
     (Itu adalah angka 15)

2. What is the number before ....?

    (Angka berapa sebelum angka ....?)
    A : What is the number before ten?
    B : It is nine

    What is the number after ....?

    (Angka berapa sesudah angka ....?)
    A : What is the number after fourteen?
    B : It is fifteen

3. What is ... plus .... ?

    What is .... minus .... ?
    What is .... multiplied by ....?
    What is .... divided by ..... ?

     A : What is five plus five?

     B : It is ten
     A : What is twenty minus two?
     B : It is eighteen
     A : What is five times five?
     B : It is twenty five
     A : What is thirty divided by ten?
     B : It is three
