PERSONAL DIET REPORT

Eating habits

INTRODUCTION
Many times, it is believed that a healthy diet consists of eating
only vegetables or greens and omitting carbohydrates, sugars,
etc.; However, according to the WHO (World Health
Organization), having a healthy diet consists of eating a variety
of foods that provide the nutrients you need to stay healthy,
feel good and have energy. These nutrients include protein,
carbohydrates, fat, water, vitamins, and minerals.

This project is carried out in order to be able to evaluate our

eating habits from data recorded from 11/2/2020 to 11/15/2020,
where time and food consumed are taken into account, with
these data it will be analyzed if the amount of food consumed is
balanced and if the consumption time is adequate.

At the beginning of this project, the perception of my eating

habits is good, because, although I consume sugar and trans
fats, they are not in my high proportion in my diet. I know that
for my health and well-being I must stop consuming some of
these foods and replace them with others that do not affect my
health, I do not intend to stop eating or put some foods aside,
but I want to learn to eat balanced.

DESCRIPTION
Throughout our lives we have heard the phrase "we are what we eat", and how true that phrase is. Our body is responsible
for observing vitamins and nutrients from the food we eat, but mostly from these foods, it extracts the energy that we use
every day to carry out our activities. So, if we eat healthy, our body will be healthy and energetic, but if we eat badly, we will
be sick and we will not be able to successfully perform daily activities.

My diet is based primarily on carbohydrates, protein, and

vegetables, but many times that can vary depending on
whether I have to attend college or stay home all day.
When I go to university, I have to get up very early, therefore I
try to drink orange juice or coffee with milk, since having
breakfast so early makes me nauseous, and I try to eat a
sandwich or a fruit in the morning. At lunchtime I try to be as
balanced as possible, eat a portion of protein (chicken, meat,
fish), one or two portions of carbohydrates (pasta, rice, cooked
or mashed potatoes), a portion of salads or vegetables.

At dinner time I am very careless, in most days I eat fast food that contains trans fats, mainly like pizza, hamburger or hot
dogs; Although this is not always the case, some days I try to eat something more balanced and healthier. Mealtimes are a
problem for me, since in my house there is no control of these and many times we tend to eat late, although we try to eat
between meals. Something very important in my diet is that I consume a lot of water, since I know about its health benefits
and also due to a disease that I suffer, I must prevent being dehydrated so as not to suffer a decline.
ANALYSIS
Observing the first week, I can recognize that my meal
times are not very stable, they vary depending on the
activity or the planning of my activities, I also observe that
I am addicted to apples and that when it comes to fruits it
is the only one that I eat, as well as the arepa with egg
and the coffee with milk.

In the second week I had a tendency to consume more

food, and this is because in that week my hormones were
altered because I was in my menstruation cycle, I had a
tendency to eat more carbohydrates and not eat almost
fruit, in addition to eating in greater proportion fast food.

As for my energy, when I decided to eat in a balanced

way and at the right times, I could stay active, but when I
was disorderly or was on my period, my energy declined
due to the food I ate.
ASSESSMENT
When evaluating my eating habits these two weeks, I have
realized that I really need to change them, since my health and
well-being can be affected in the future. Although I consume the
necessary foods to have a healthy diet, I do not do it in a
balanced way and besides that, I eat after hours, so many times
in my day I have little energy and I tend to get more tired. When I
don't eat at the right time, my body feels sleepy, since the
digestive process does not take place at the right times, therefore
my metabolism becomes slow, and that prevents me from
performing my activities at 100%.

CONCLUSION
A healthy diet does not mean to stop eating, but to eat balanced foods that provide us with nutrients, vitamins, minerals and
energy, and many times we err in that meaning. We must evaluate our diet, think a little further about our future and avoid
suffering more advanced diseases associated with our diet. After this project I was able to conclude that my diet directly
affects my way of acting, feeling and performing my daily actions, we must change for ourselves and for the environment.
