● You will receive a slip with a description of a character. During this
activity, you will act as the character on your slip. Don’t show your slip to anyone else or tell anyone what is on your slip or who your character is. Hold on to your slip. ● In a series of 3-5 minute rounds, you will talk with the other students while “in character.” As you talk with each other, try to guess who or what kind of person their character is (EX: “A really annoying person”). Take brief notes on each character you talk to using the note-taking form provided. At the end of each round, in Google Forms write three words describing the character you have been talking to during that round. ● At the end of each round, each of you in the inner circle will shift over one seat so that you have new partners; then the next round will begin. ● Near the end of the activity, we will have a "mixer" in which you can get out of your seat and talk with anyone you have not yet had a conversation with. ● You may only use dialogue, mannerisms, body language, and facial expressions to indirectly reveal your character. ● You may NOT use hand gestures, drawings, or any other visual hints, NOR may you tell anyone directly who or what your character is. Some questions you might ask… ● What part of town do you live in? ● Where's your favorite place to eat? ● Where do you want to go to college? ● What do you do for fun? ● What countries would you like to visit? ● What's something you’re proud of? ● Tell me about yourself... When you are done, please briefly answer the following: 1. What are some of the things others did that helped you guess their characters? (Write 3-4 things) 2. What did you do to help people guess your character that you think was effective? (Write 2-3 things) 3. What would you have done differently to help people guess? (Write 1-2 things)
