The city council meeting of Sacramento is made up of various bodies. The Mayor heads it. Apart
from the Mayor of Sacramento, one individual member from the eight districts of the city are
also members of this city council meeting. Also, various members of the different legislative
bodies like the Redevelopment agency and the Finance authority are made a part of this meeting.
Agenda
The agenda of a city council meeting can be defined as the main purpose behind the meeting
being held. Typically, there are various issues and disputes that are listened to and solved in a
city council meeting. The city council meeting held on 27 th August 2019 is chosen here. It
spanned for over 6 hours and dealt with various points of concern for the city. One of them was
the suspension of competitive bidding for the purchase of different veterinary pharmaceuticals as

The location of the issue at hand spanned the entire city of Sacramento. After a long discussion
on the topic, the recommendations reached by the city council were first of all to suspend all
activities about competitive bidding. A 2/3rd vote agreed that it was in the best interests of the
city to suspend the bidding activities presently. It was also decided to allow the Community
veterinary pharmaceuticals as well as supplies under the discount program offered by Zoetis
Shelter. The recommendations also asked for authorization of a $175,000 annual not-to-exceed
purchase order with the Zoetis till the fiscal year 2022-23. This allowance would make for a
significant help towards the issue being faced currently. The said recommendations were
proposed by strictly keeping in mind the prime interests of the city of Sacramento.
