How to request and install TADS and AVCS updates in Navi-

Planner 4000.
This instruction is valid when charts in Navi-Planner and ECDIS are equal – the
IMPORTANT:
updates in Navi-Planner and ECDIS have been updated from the same weeks.

1. Start Navi-Planner from the Transas Integrator.

Before updates are going to be requested it is needed to have the latest catalog
NOTE: loaded in Navi-Planner. For this please follow the steps given in the How to order
TADS (AVCS) or TX-97 catalogue in Navi-Planner Instruction.

2. Click on the Charts and press on the Chart Catalogue button:

3. From the Current catalogue load the TADS catalog:

4. Having loaded the catalog Navi-Planner will show all the charts boundaries on
chart panel:

5. In the Chart Catalogue middle table do the track boll (mouse) right-hand click
on the To be corrected field:

6. From the appeared menu choose Select all:

So charts that are needed to be updated will be selected – you see that the right
hand table is filled with charts.

7. From the Request for Data group click Updates button:

8. On the appeared Request window press Next >> button:

9. Wizard window will show request optimization results. Read it through and
press Next:

10. Choose the Send request radio button and click on the Finish button:

11. In a short while our server will revert to you with the latest updates.
12. On receipt, Navi-Planner will automatically display the Source scan completed
window:

13. Switch OFF the Save AVCS permits check box – it is not needed for now:

14. Click “Install selected items” button:

15. Browse your USB stick, where the received AVCS Updates (Dataset) will be
saved, press OK:

16. Navi-Planner will start TADS updates installation:

17. On finish, Navi-Planner will show you the report listing all the charts that have
been updated. Click on the Close button:

Here you go, you have just fully updated your Navi-Planner with the latest chart
updates.

Now, it is time to update charts in your ECDIS.

18. On your USB stick, that you chose in Navi-Planner for saving the AVCS Updates
(Dataset), the AVCS folder will be created automatically:

19. Rename the AVCS folder to a folder named V01X01:

20. Insert your USB stick to ECDIS computer and install the AVCS Updates in a
standard way.

************HOWEVER, if ECDIS still cannot find the chart data**************

21. Open your USB stick and copy the V01X01 (or AVCS) contents in to the Root, so
your USB will be looking like:

22. Insert your USB stick to ECDIS computer and install the AVCS Updates in a
standard way.
