 The virtue of selfishness
People are evil congenitally !
 In his book LEVIATHAN , Thomas Hobbes said :

‘’ Humans by nature are selfish destructive and unprincipled ‘’

Thomas Hobbes
Example 1 :

Why do we steal cares , kill inoccent people on the streets of

California or Los Angeles on that game ?

Because nobody’s controlling you ?

Or

Because you can escape the police easily by entering a code on

your keyboard or controller ?
Example 2 :

PLATO
Title page of the
oldest manuscript of A rare depiction of the legend of Gyges finding
Plato’s : The the magic ring , 16th Century .
Republic .
Social Contract :
In the Foregoing , it seems like people are fighting in a war of all against
all..
But it’s supposed that human beigns are more intelligent than behaving
on the instinct of surviving
For this reason , Social Contract was created .

It is an implicit agreement among members of a society governing such

matters as submission of individuals to rule of law and acceptable
conduct .
Psychological egoism
For example , in Islam ; Allah tell people to be altruists and order them to
help others even in the hard times .

But , even when we show altruism , do we make it strictly to help others

or because we want to enter the paradise and receive wage from the
Almighty Lord ?

It means , in all cases you do everything for yourself … even altruism is a

selfish act .

In the end , it seems like you entred on that social contract just because
you want to protect yourself from people’s selfishness , and protect others
from yours .
‘’ All my life’s motivations , are a selfish motivations ‘’
- ABRAHAM LINCOLN
Moral Selfishness :

‘’ Living for others ‘’

- Auguste Comte

It’s Comte who created the ‘’ Altruism ‘’ term

To synchronise your morals with Comte’s morals you must
receive no benefice from that help..
Moreover , you must live for others and others live for you .

Auguste Comte
The virtue of selfishness :
‘’ To redeem both man and morality, is the concept of selfishness that
one has to redeem ‘’
