Activity 2. Assessment scenarios

For each of the following situations, indicate which method provides the best match. In
determining the appropriate method, apply the Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy. Justify your choice
in one or two statements.
1. Mr Roa wants if his students can identify the different parts of a flower.

Teacher observations is the best method that Mr. Roa will do because this method
will help Mr. Roa to get information if learning takes place in the classroom. Ongoing
assessment will target the instant understanding of the students. This scenario will fall on
Cognitive domain in the remembering level because this activity is requiring
memorization.

2. Mr. Bunquin wants to find out if his students examine the quality of education in the
country.

Mr. Bunquin can use teacher observation. Because this is an information


gathering procedure which will identify if the students can examine the quality of
education in the country. This will be on cognitive domain in the evaluating level because
there must be standards to determine a quality of an object.

3. Mr Sy wants to check if her students can subtract two digit numbers.

Mr. Sy can use constructed-response format because he wants the students to


discover their own answer. And their problem-solving skills will be enhance on the
activity. The students will produce answer in response to a problem which is the
subtraction. This is under cognitive domain in the applying level because there must be a
procedure in solving this kind of problem.
