• The act prohibits nay kind of discrimination against the released convicts basing on their

conviction and prohibits the employer form asking the same and discriminate on that
ground.
• But the mere requirement of declaration on not indulging in any illegal course during the
period of employment is lawful and wouldn’t be considered as discrimination under the
law.
• The spent conviction can be a ground of job when the jo role is specific for crime
prevention or where the job profile requires the employee to deal with the vulnerable
groups of the society
• Glass ceiling is termed to that situation which is considered as barrier in the promotion of
employees or prevents the person from promoting to the senior position due to their
protected characteristics.
• It is shown from the trends in the corporate culture that most of the victims of glass
ceiling is women due to their protected character they are not promoted to the senior
position which is kind of discrimination that despite having the required skill set and
experience they are not promoted to their deserving position on the organization.

positions of the organization which are failing in the business or where there is possibility
of failure which makes them easy targets for taking onus of the failure.
