Delftia acidovorans is a Gram-negative non-spore-forming,[2]

aerobe,[3] rod-shaped bacterium known for its ability, together Delftia acidovorans
with another bacterium species, Cupriavidus metallidurans, to Scientific classification
produce gold nuggets. Layers of these bacteria dissolve gold into
nanoparticles. These nanoparticles are able to move through rocks Kingdom: Bacteria
and soil and can be deposited in new locations in gold ore.[4] [5] [6] Phylum: Proteobacteria
Class: Betaproteobacteria
References Order: Burkholderiales
