ENGL 4021 M03 MINUTES
Meeting Date: August 27th,2020

Call to Order:
A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 M03 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce was held
remotely via Google Meet video conference on August 27th,2020. The meeting convened at 9:00am,
Professor LeCompte presiding and Kevin Hernandez, secretary. All students attended except: Grenda
Cruz, Mileyska Loya and Yaidelis Rodriguez.

Approval of Minutes:
Minutes of the August 25th,2020 meeting were approved after corrections.

Matters Discussed:
1. Professor Le Compte welcomed the students and asked if anyone was having problems with
connection and Google Meet platform.

2. Students completed the free writing exercise “What cheers you up, without fail?”

3.Minutes of the August 25th,2020 meeting were discussed and approved after corrections made by
Professor Le Compte and students.

4. The professor spoke about the portfolio:

• Weebly platform is going to be used to make the portfolio.
• Answered some doubts about the portfolio sections “Minutes” and “Free Writing”
5. The professor also spoke about technical writing definition and its characteristics:
• It has a specific information, audience, and purpose.
• It requires facts, not opinions.
• Technical writing characteristics are:
o Clarity, accuracy, comprehensiveness, accessibility, conciseness, and correctness.

6. The assignment related to the mousetrap was discussed and is going to be finished on
September 1st,2020. Also, a Mousetrap’s Venn Diagram assignment is going to be discussed on
the same date.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 10:30am.
