Feeling Extra Green this Year? Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by

Coming to Uptown Normal’s ‘Sharin’ of the Green Parade’
NORMAL, Ill. – Uptown Normal is partnering with the Children’s Home & Aid Agency to host
its ninth annual ‘Sharin’ of the Green Parade’ on March 14, from 1-3 p.m.

The parade ‘shares the green’ to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and Irish Heritage, but also as a way
to promote donations for the Children’s Home & Aid Agency. It will consist of organizations
and groups that will throw candy and a giant Irish flag will lead the procession. Community
members are encouraged to bring either cash or check donations to give to parade volunteers as
they walk by. By wearing green and bringing green, community members will “fuel” the flag
and generate more excitement.

The parade will start at 11 Uptown Circle at 1 p.m. and will go throughout the town until 3 p.m.
It is a free event that is open to people of all ages.

“By combining the green festivities of Irish Heritage and exploring all the features of Uptown
Normal, community members can create lasting memories and donate to a wonderful cause.
Donating not only helps families who are in need, but can help themselves if they would ever
need the organization’s services,” said Children’s Home & Aid Development Associate Laura
Cordero.
