b. Auto Firm on Create check box, the dates on the Work Order cannot
automatically reschedule, even in Draft and Unreleased statuses.
c. You can still manually reschedule a resource on the work order, thereby
updating the dates on its corresponding operation and work order.
d. Auto Firm on Release check box, the dates on the work order cannot
automatically reschedule, after the work order is at Released or On Hold

a. The firm flag will make the duration not to consider the shifts. What you enter
there has no meaning to scheduling and will accept any value. If you enter a
date in Saturday it will consider as working in Saturday. It will consider the
24h day no matter the calendar setup.
b. This is because the firmed work orders will accept any exception. There will
be no auto-scheduling what so ever.
c. If the Firm check box is selected, planning and scheduling does not
automatically adjust the schedule, regardless of material or resource
availability.
d. If the check box is selected, the end date is calculated, based on the Work
Order duration. The scheduler automatically calculates the duration based on
the operations (resource duration setup) on the Work Order.

f. The user should know that system will consider infinite assignment of hours
irrespective of the shifts defined or the resource
g. For a firm work order, the dates are completely controlled by the user. We do
not look at the shifts at all. If the user assigns an employee on a Saturday (a
holiday), the employee is presumed to work at that time. If he is assigned to
work at midnight - he is also presumed to work then.
h. If the Firm check box is selected, you can still manually reschedule a resource
on the Work Order, thereby updating the dates on its corresponding Operation
and Work Order.
a. Scheduling of work order based on shift times is taken care by the scheduling
logic automatically in non-firm work order.
b. For a non-firm work order, the scheduler looks at the workday calendar and if
there are shifts automatically assigns a resource per shifts.
