MY VACATIONS
Hi, I’m Mark, I want to tell you about my last vacations, they were fantastic! I visited different places around the
world. For example, last year I was in Turkey and this experience was amazing. My friends, Phil and Peter and my
girlfriend Nasly were there and they enjoyed a lot. In Turkey there were many interesting places; for example we
were in Bosporus, this place was the limit between Asia and Europe, this was interesting, after visiting Bosporus
we visited a restaurant and the food was pretty good for all of us except for Nasly, who ordered a Durum, and it
was too spicy for her.
Another place was the Hughie Sophia Church Museum; this was a religious place and it was consider as the great
masterpiece of Byzantine art. It was built by Justinian in 6th century AD and is the third church to occupy this site.
At the time it was built, it was the largest church in existence. All of us were happy to be in such important place;
the only problem was that the tour guide wasn’t Turkish and some things weren’t clear since he didn’t speak
English.
During the last days, we were in Cappadocia, except Phil who was sick because the Durum was very spicy for him
too. Taking about Cappadocia, it is one of the geological wonders of the world. The history of Cappadocia begins
60 million years ago with the eruption of two volcanoes, covering the area with lava and tufa. In later periods rain
and wind created unusual valleys and canyons; thanks to that, we were in a camp and the experience wasn’t very
good since it was rainy all the days, so there weren’t warm places.
Overall, traveling is one of the most amazing experiences in the world but it is better to know a little bit of the
place you want to visit in order to be prepared for any eventuality.
