Activity Instructions:
1. Read thoroughly the Mann-Whitney U Test handout.
2. To guide you in performing the activity, a video tutorial is also

3. Open your SPSS software in your device to start the activity.
4. Input the data found on the next slide.
5. Screenshot Data View and Variable View. Paste on the topmost part
of your output.
6. Import Output View to Word file.
7. Interpret the ff. tables: a) Mann-Whitney Test and b) Test Statistics.
The effectiveness of advertising two rival products of ice cream (Brand X and Brand
Y) was compared. The twenty (20) participants of the research then rated on the
overall likelihood of them buying the product (out of 10, with 10 being “definitely
going to buy the product”). Half of the participants gave ratings for Brand X and half
for Brand Y. The following are the ratings they gave per brand:
