concern?
Ans. - If the same disease spreads to a large number of people
at the same time, it is called an epidemic.
- It becomes difficult to control an epidemic and people
can die.

Analysis -

HOTS - How does a vaccine help to prevent diseases? Which


diseases can be prevented by vaccination?
Ans. A vaccine is a small dose of germs that cause the disease.
1. The vaccine is injected in the body
2. The body makes antibodies to fight against the disease
3. This makes our body immune to the disease
Diseases like smallpox, chickenpox, polio, etc. can be
prevented by vaccination.

PQ7 - List some ways by which we can prevent diseases that
are transmitted through water?
Ans.​ WAYS TO PREVENT TRANSMISSION OF WATER-BORNE
DISEASES :
1. Keep water sources clean
2. Keep drinking water covered
3. Use filtered water
PQ8 - Smallpox is a disease that has been eradicated by
vaccination globally. How do you think this happened?
Ans. Smallpox has been eradicated from our country by
vaccination each and every individual repeatedly for some
years.
