A SAFARI IN MY HAND!
Create your very own safari animals using your fingers, hands and feet!
YOU WILL NEED:
• Water based paints (black, white, • Markers
blue, yellow, brown, red) • Sheets of paper
• Paint brushes (optional) • An adult helper
• Plate/lid to hold paint

1. MAKE YOUR PAINTS


Mix the following colours together on your paint plate or lid to create the
Safari Shades you might need:

(Put a sample of your colour mixes in the circles above!)


Try adding white paint or black paint to make your colours darker.
2. MAKE YOUR ANIMAL PRINTS
Using the pictures on the opposite page as a guide, follow the steps to create
your own Handprint Jungle Safari animals.
• Cover your hand in paint (paint it on OR put your hand in the paint)
• Press your hand onto the paper (painted side down)
i. Try a print with your fingers closed
ii. Try a print with your fingers open
iii. Use your thumb to make heads
iv. Use your fingers to add tails
• Let handprints dry
3. BRING YOUR PRINTS TO LIFE
Use markers or paint to add details.
4. USE YOUR IMAGINATION
