1 Overview
1.1 Introduction
To comply with the further requirements for lower power consumption, smaller space
occupation and higher
high performance of products from operators,, ZTE released the magic
series of RRUs, the new generation of SDR RRUs. Four types of RRUs,
RR 1T2R ZXSDR
R8861, 2T2R ZXSDR R8862, 2T4R ZXSDR R8862A and 3T6R ZXSDR R8863 are
included in the series.
series In this document, R8861 is introduced.
1.2 Benefits
By inheriting SDR structure and introducing new technologies, R8861 has only half the
volume and higher power efficiency of R8881, the previous generation of 1T2R RRU.
The following part lists
list the key benefits for operators.
R8861,, the smallest 1T2R RRU of 80W output power in industry, is less than 10L in
volume and only 12 kg in weight. The light and compact design enables it to be
easily carried and installed. The
e load bearing requirement for the tower or wall is
lower than other equipments.

The software system of R8861 can be divided into operating support layer and
application layer.
GSM/UMTS/LTE Functions
OMC-B OSS
Linux
Hardware (BSP)
The operating support layer provides the functions of OSS, while OAM, DBS, BRS,
BRACS and SCS serve different BTS modes.
Operating and
nd Maintenance (OAM) provides the configuration, alarm and
performance measurement function.
Database
ase Sub-system
Sub (DBS) is the database system.
Bearer Sub-system
system (BRS) processes the protocol stack.
System Control
Contr Sub-system (SCS) controls the power supplying and active/standby
switching.
Board Support Package (BSP) is the software closely connected with the board
hardware and supports Real Time Operation Support Sub-system
Sub system (RT OSS) to work on
the board.
2.5 Functionality
Supports multi-band
multi of 900M/1800M/2100MHz.
Supports GSM,
GSM UMTS, LTE single mode or multi-mode.
Supports transmitting
transmit channel switching on/off function.
Supports built-in
