Standard 8: Instructional Strategies— ​ The teacher understands and


uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to
develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections,
and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways.

Learning Objective(s) ● SWBAT accurately define cooperative learning.


● SWBAT correctly apply cooperative learning during the
game.

Materials/Equipment ● Powerpoint
● “Cooperative Learning” Worksheet
● Zoom game pictures

Procedures ● Handout “Cooperative Learning” worksheet.


● Students will fill out the worksheet throughout the PowerPoint
presentation.
● Can anyone describe or define cooperative learning for me?
● Today I will be teaching you about cooperative learning and
how it’s beneficial in a classroom.
● Present the powerpoint to the students
● Give instructions on how to play Zoom.
● Create two large groups for the students to be in.
● Students will play the Zoom game.
● When the game is over, students will turn to a partner and
discuss a cooperative learning activity you can do in your
classroom.

Closure ● Turn to your a partner and discuss a cooperative learning


activity you can do in your classroom.

Assessment ● Students will complete “Cooperative Learning” worksheet


throughout the PowerPoint presentation.
