Summary of Objectives and Results

Title: Press Kit

Problem/opportunity: The Illinois Shakespeare Festival requested that our team reach out to
The Pantagraph with a press kit to help promote the event.

Special circumstances: This project was completed for my COM 268 Public Relations Writing
class. This project required me to write a press release as well as a
public service announcement to address The Pantagraph in efforts to
promote our press kit and the production. This project occurred at the
very beginning of COVID-19 and we were forced to adjust over the
break and coordinate efficiently between us.

Target public(s):  Primary: The Pantagraph


 Secondary: The audience of The Pantagraph

Objective: 1. Produce the media kit for the client by March 27, 2020.
(Benchmark: Media kit used for past production.)
2. Obtain media coverage from The Pantagraph to promote our press
kid and the production.
(Benchmark: No benchmark)
3. Increase awareness by 20% to the Shakespeare Festival
because of media coverage by the time the festival takes
place.

Evaluation: 1. The press kit was completed by our said date.


2. The assignment was hypothetical and was not required to be measured but
would be measured by the amount of news and media coverage that increased
because of the press kit.
3. Not required to be measured but compare sales of tickets from the year prior
and compare the percentage increase.
