GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

Each individual has their own role in the society, we have different culture, traditions, belief and
values and learning to respect our differences will help us create a more effective understanding with
each other and it help us achieve diversity. Through Diversity everyone can serve their role in terms of
being a global citizen where we don't only take action for the benefit of ourselves but what we do will
impact our community. A lot of people are given the opportunity to show and rely their knowledge
through their works which can result to a better impact in making a better society.

Samir Moussa is one of those people who contributed his knowledge through his work with the
help of globalization. Samir is an example of a global citizen, he shows the advantages and
disadvantages of globalization like how it makes him develop social capital by having a lot of knowledge
and abilities he learn from his friend and family who are living in different country but it also cause him
to be away from his loved ones. Globalization enabled Samir Moussa to know of the knowledge of
indigenous culture such as the treatment of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis by the medicine man called Don
Candido of Costa Rica and he named his band SANDFLY to speak of the indigenous science and
knowledge that is losing credibility to western science and knowledge, to speak for the lack of
opportunity in most indigenous communities. This shows how through globalization Samir is lucky
enough to use it in a way where he shows his passion while also resulting to a beneficial impact in global
awareness. Samir story inspired a lot of people who in return also try to make effort in doing actions on
their own to create change. Samir shows the beauty of areas that are not very well known in our world
and through his work he created an impact that shows change and will always be implanted to peoples
mind and heart on how we need to be more aware of things that is still a mystery in the world that we
live in just because we don't focus on things that are always been there but not is the center of
attention.

In conclusion, global citizen create change and it will impact our would for the betterment of
everyone of us. Through Samir Moussa story we are now able to understand that if we are willing to
take the gift of knowledge that we have of globalization and make an action we can also create
something that will help the world. Respecting each differences will help us understand and appreciate
each individual and with that it will open our minds through different opportunities that will help us
fulfill our role in being a good global citizen who can give contribution that will result in the betterment
of the society.
