DANGERAREA RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS

1. INTRODUCTION:

The following basic SAFETY rules and Precautions to be observed while working in DANGER
AREA, from a part of the overall SAFETY rules and instructions of the factory.

1.1. All employees and other persons working in DANGER AREA are at all times responsible
for the SAFE and Efficient performance of work by following the basic SAFETY rules.
They should therefore make themselves familiar with the following SAFETY rules and
DOs and DON’Ts.
1.2. All employees will therefore be provided with a copy of these rules and instructions before
they work in DANGER AREA. The supervisory staff and executives are also responsible
that all workmen under their control and the persons entering the DANGER AREA are
fully conversant with the following rules and instructions. Ignorance of these on the part
of any employee will NOT be accepted as an excuse for the non-observance of these.
1.3. These rules have been drawn up for the SAFETY of employees or machines and other
installation in DANGER AREA. NEGLECT OF THESE RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS
IN DANGER AREA MAY LEAD TO EVEN LOSS OF LIVES IN ADDITION TO
MACHINERY AND OTHER PROPERTY OF THE COMPANY.
1.4. The willing and cordial co-operation of all employees is invited in accepting self-discipline
for the strict compliance that may appear to be severe but is essential to ensure SAFETY.
1.5. Despite these rules and instructions if any employee is found to willfully disregarding these
rules, they will make themselves liable for severe disciplinary action including removal
from the service.

2. DANGER BUILDING AND DANGER AREA:

2.1. “DANGER BUILDING” is any building or part thereof in which explosive or highly
inflammable substances are handled, manufactured, or stored.
2.2. The danger area is the land lying around danger buildings enclosed by the fence and
includes all buildings within these areas.

2.3. The description “CLEAN” as applied to Danger Buildings means that they are constructed,
arranged, and maintained as to prevent by all possible means the presence of grit, dust, or
other extraneous matters or unauthorized materials or implements.

3. DOs AND DON’Ts IN DANGER AREA:

ENTRY TO DANGER AREA & DANGER AREA PASS

3.1. No person unless specially authorized shall enter the Danger Area. All persons who are
detailed for duty in the Danger Area will be given a Danger Area entry pass. This should
be shown while entering the Danger Area. The pass is not transferable and should be
produced when demanded. Loss of the pass should be intimated immediately to the
SAFETY SECTION.
3.2. Littering about is prohibited in the Danger Area.
3.3. No person in a state of intoxication will enter or be admitted to the Danger Area.
3.4. No visitor shall be allowed to visit the Danger Area unless authorized to do so by the
SAFETY OFFICER or General Manager or Project Manager or Managing Director.
3.5. Disorderly conduct or rough of any sort is strictly forbidden in the Danger Area.
