According to Zia (2020) the COVID-19 pandemic made students transition from default to online mode

of classes. Techology plays an important role in the process of teaching and learning. Students must
have the means of technology to attend online classes. This includes laptop, tablet, mobile phone, and
internet. Internet connection is the main platform used for E-learning, many students have reported the
unavailability of gadgets and internet connection needed for online classes. These kinds of stressors are
enough to cause students anxiety of not being able to attend or fail their classes.

According to Acharya (2020) Stress can be defined as the physical, mental, or emotional factor that
causes body’s nonspecific response or reaction to demands made on it which results from the external
factors or internal factors. In this study, Achaya found that the majority of the students are facing
increased stress levels, lack of access of internet connection, worrying about failing, lengthening of
academic year due to uncertainty related to corona virus. These kinds of situations can negatively
impact a students mental health.

According to Dhawan (2020) Online classes can hamper the communication between the learner and
the educator, because direct communication and human touch are lost. Students and teachers
can face many technical difficulties that hinder and slow down the teaching – learning process.
All students and learners are not the same, they vary in degrees of their capabilities and
confidence level. Some do not feel comfortable with learning online, leading to increased
frustration, confusion, stress, fear, anxiety, and depression
