Praxis Analysis
the Praxis I is important before starting my true capstone courses for my teaching degree.
Passing the Praxis II is important to show all that I have learned before being sent out to begin
my educational career. The passing scores for the Praxis I are as follows: 156 for Reading, 162
I will be completely honest with you and myself by saying I did not prepare for the
practice exams in the least bit. I do not want to give excuses, but I hope you can understand my
current situation. The last two weeks have been hectic to say the least. Between studying/taking
other midterms, moving into a new house, dealing with a break up, and helping take care of my
dad, I haven’t had much time for anything. Even as I type this, I am preparing to leave for a
training event tomorrow morning with my unit (I am also a member of the Nevada National
Guard). Again, I do not want to give excuses, I just hope you understand where I am coming
from. My scores reflect what my life has been the last two weeks and I hope you understand it is
The following are my scores for the practice exam: for Reading I received a 46%, for
Writing I received a 28%, and for Math I received a 13%. I would like to reiterate that these
scores are not a reflection of my true abilities and under different circumstances, I perform
MUCH better. Unfortunately, it has just been a difficult two weeks for me.
I have already plans in place to improve my faulty scores that I know will guarantee me
passing grades on all portions of the Praxis I. One of my co-workers, who is a teacher full time,
has already promised me time aside to help me study. I have already purchased practice books
for all three portions in addition to the books that my co-worker is providing for me. I also plan

the scores I received on this go around, but I hope you understand my current situation and know
