Theories that can be applied into solving the problem

- Managing Decision Making

o The first step in good leadership is making decisions fairly and appropriate to
the situation. Decision making is important to achieve organizational objectives.
A good decision is done when a firm accomplish its goals while properly utilizing
its given budget and time. Before making a decision, a manager must keep in
mind if it is morally upright. This is well applied to the leadership style of
Peterson because she make sure that there’s no conflict in decision she made.
Even if it is the best decision he can made, if it doesn’t benefit all of his
employees and the company, then that decision is a failure. Deciding is part of
our everyday life and your choices will affect you even in a small way. It would
be good if we start practicing the steps in rational decision making in order to
come up with the best alternative Managers can take on different strategies to
effectively handle groups when making decision. In making decision, all of the
person must be involve but if there’s a bias among the group, a conflict will
arise. Of course, conflict cannot be avoided when a decision will come from a
group. So the members should be open-minded to the ideas of the all the other
person in the group.
- Encouraging Better Communication
o A good leader knows how to listen to his/her colleagues and most of the time,
free from bias. Meg should listen to Peterson ever since from the start so that
problems are solved earlier and be avoided. As for Peterson, she should let her
members attend their other engagement from the other group because maybe
what their trying to communicate can also help with their project.
