Q: You are required to choose a business and tell us about the computer, hardware, software,
networking, internet requirements that you might be requiring for the job. You have a budget of PKR
1 million (ten lacs) and you can freely choose your items from local or international websites of your
choice. However, you need to justify the expenses to your requirements at hand.

The business we will be running is a small scale business name ABC Cash & Carry . Our main aim
is to provide our valued customers with the best quality products at the most affordable prices.
We deal in all commodities i.e. grocery, food, drinks, meat, clothes, cosmetics products that
make up a basic house-hold. ABC Cash & Carry consists of a simple structure dealing with
everyday purchases and selling.
For the efficient running of the business, we will be going to have 3 personal computers, 3
printers, bar code machine and reader, security cameras, broadband internet facilities and
licensed accounting, database, document-management softwares.

These components are necessary for the efficient running of the business to make it more
profitable. Since this is a small-scale business, we have kept the budget to a minimum. The
software is the most essential part of the business hence it was constructed in the
beginning which was connected to the database that reads the bar-codes and automatically
does all the transactions and calculations. The Bill is printed out through the printers. All
this equipment was hence a necessity for setting-up and running the business.
