User defined update
Sometimes things go wrong and maybe the update is not completed. When this happen you can use
the “User Defined” mode for make a manual selection of what upgrade or install.

This is also useful for some Bose audio users that want to update all functions in MMI except Bose
modules (Bose updating sometimes will trigger “component protection” and you will need to recode
the unit).

For enable this mode:

Open Green Menu (Press CAR and MENU and hold it)
Go to swdl and tick “user defined mode”

Don't reboot, just exit with any button (RADIO/MEDIA/CAR)

Proceed with firmware-upgrade as normal.
When the update starts, you can select “User Defined” instead of “Standard”

Keldo

1. Find out the MAC address of your multimedia unit (MMI)

Every navigation unit has a unique MAC address; this is documented on the multimedia sticker, see
below:

Removing multimedia unit physically to read the MAC address is not always possible, therefore we
have made a small script that reads it for you. Please follow these steps:

A. Use the GetMyMAC script from here

B. Unzip the file
C. Copy to the root of an SD card (format SD as FAT32)
D. Turn ignition on, start multimedia and wait until it’s fully loaded (about 2 minutes)
E. Insert SD card into slot 1 (make sure all other SD cards and USB devices are unplugged)
F. Wait 30 seconds, then eject SD card from Multimedia
G. Insert SD into your computer.
H. Find the file called “MAC.txt” which has your MAC address.
Note: If the file MAC.txt is empty you will have to make sure the ignition is on, and follow
these steps:
 Enter Greenmenu, scroll-down and select wlan
 Put ticks in both check boxes
 Wait 10 seconds
 Use Get_MAC_Troubleshoot script to get your MAC address and info.

2. Build activation card

They will see the MAC address of your device type: 001cf72107cf
Take in the hands of the easiest calculator
MAC address divide into two equal parts for six characters and 001cf7 / 2107cf
In the calculator, enter in the first half only numbers: 17 and click the Plus
Now we add the second half of the only numbers: 2107
Get example: 17 + 2107 = 2124
To this sum is added the figure: 1984.
As a result, a complete example looks like this: 17 + 2107 = 2124 + 1984 = 4108
4108 and it will be activated for your Xcode redundant system.
Further, there is a file in the archive Xcode_00040009.fsc
Instead of the word "Xcode" in the file name obtained by adding the substitute code, in this example
4108.
Get 4108_00040009.fsc filename
We transfer to the SD card at the root of two files:

3. Activate the MAP

A. Put the files to the root of an SD card
