What realization/s do you have after our outreach in Bahay Pag-asa last May 5?

REALIZATION AS TEACHER

According to Greenleaf, the “The place where God class you, is the place where your deepest interest
the world’s hunger meets”. As a teacher, we have been serving students as a passion and as a
profession. Going to Bahay Pag-Asa is an eye opener that there are different groups of people who need
us. Though we cannot provide for all their educational needs, but we can surely redirect them in new
paths since in a way, teachers are respected by anyone and we become symbols for them to aim high in
their lives.

REALIZATION AS PARENTS

I believe that to become successful parents is not only to bring our children to good life statuses but also
to raise them uprightly so that they do not contribute to social maladies. As I look into the faces of the
residents of Bahay Pag-Asa, I really cannot take away the thought that there are negative reasons why
they were sent to Bahay Pag-asa. I realized that parenting is a factor. I wish not to see my children in
such institutions.

REALIZATION AS MEMBER OF SOCIETY

Bahay Pag-Asa is indeed a spring of hope to any resident. It provides direction and eliminates the guilt
of anyone who have done wrongly in their past. I hope that the society develops such institution so as
not to punish delinquents but to teach them the right path.

As a whole, to live out the La Sallian values, we as teachers must realize our true calling not only to
teach minds but to use education as a means to bring lost souls home.
