To whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter on behalf of Kelsie Hutton. I would highly recommend Kelsie for an elementary
teaching position. I had the pleasure of working with Kelsie for two semesters and she possesses the
desirable qualities of an early childhood educator that would be an asset to your school district.

Kelsie was in my classroom for the spring semester in 2020 and then again in the fall semester in
2020. During both clinical experiences, Kelsie demonstrated excellent knowledge of curriculum and
content and how to apply this knowledge when working with the students. She went above and
beyond what was expected of her and always offered to do more. What was most impressive to me
was her natural ability to connect with students and make each student feel respected and valued.

Throughout Kelsie’s clinical experiences, she did a great job of designing and implementing lessons
that were content driven, but also hands on and interesting to the students. Kelsie worked hard to
understand students’ needs and differentiated lessons to help students that needed additional
support and challenged students when necessary. She was hands-on from the beginning and worked
hard for her students every day. She was very professional and made a personal connection with all
of our first grade teachers and instantly became an active and contributing part of our team.

One additional note I would like to add is that Kelsie worked through two different unique situations
during the pandemic. During her first clinical experience, we were shut down with only a moment’s
notice and Kelsie was right there and ready to help in any way possible. Then again in the fall of
2020, we were working with a group of students that had been out of school for five months and were
experiencing a great deal of difficulties both in the classroom and in their home lives. Kelsie was very
integral in helping us work through these dynamics and provide the support the students needed.

Once again, I would highly recommend Kelsie Hutton for an elementary teaching position. Having
worked in the Columbiana Exempted Village School district for nine years now, I have had the
opportunity to work with a number of students and Kelsie definitely shows the qualities of a dedicated
and professional teacher. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like a
verbal reference or recommendation.
