 Acid Pak4 Way Trial

Trial Period: 16th July 2020- 4th September 2020

Objectives:
1) To test the farm water quality
2) To compare the layer performances in treatment groups
with Acid Pak 4 Way and control groups
 Trial description
1. Water samples have been collected and tested for initial pH, CaCo3, Initial TDS
and water pH
after using Acid Pak 4 Way
2. 6 houses have been selected for the trial.
3. Treatment groups with Acid Pak 4 Way were L2 (44weeks), L5(21 weeks), and L9
(62 weeks). Acid Pak 4 Way was used for 4-5 days, 2 ml/Liter water for 6 hours at
the beginning of the trial then, 2 days every week, 2 ml/liter water for 6 hours until
end of the trial.
4. The control groups were L1 (45 weeks), L6 (19 weeks) and L8 (63 weeks). No Acid
Pak 4 way was given for control groups.
3. Egg production, mortality, blood titers were compared between treatment groups
and control groups.

• The water pH was 7.9 from ground water tank, barn water tank and barn pipe. The water pH
dropped to 4.1-4.2 after using 2 ml/liter Acid Pak 4 Way.

The treatment group showed improvement in egg production compare to control group. The initial
difference in egg production was 1.14% and the production was improved after treatment with Acid
Pak 4 way and the difference of 0.72% was found at the end of the trial.

L5 (treatment group) started with 14.28% lower egg production compared to L6 (control group). But
L5 managed to increase production rapidly and achieved higher 1.02% egg production at 24 weeks
compared to L6. At the end of the trial, the production from L5 was 0.36% higher compared to L6.

The treatment group showed consistency in egg production from 64-68 weeks but L8 showed sudden
drop in egg production and little recovery at 68 weeks. The difference in egg production was -3.54% at
the beginning of the trial and - 0.8% at the end of the trial showed Acid Pak 4 Way was very effective

The treatment group had lower mortality from beginning until the end of the trial.

 Trial Results- Blood titers

• L1 and L2 have at least 90% protection level for all vaccination titers
tested.

• L5 have better vaccination titers and protection level compared to L6.

L6 had lower titer for AI 2.3D with only 85% protection level.

• L9 also showed better vaccination titers compare to L8. L8 had lower

titer of AI 2.3D with 75% protection level and H9N2 has been tested
with only 8 GMT with 20% protection level.

Conclusion:

Treatment groups with Acid Pak 4 Way have improved

the egg production compared to control groups. The
vaccination titres and % protection level were also better
in treatment groups compared to control groups.

Recommended to use Acid Pak 4 Way as the results were

very positive and promising.
