"Positive and Negative Impacts of Biotechnology".

Good morning and best wishes to all of us,

Honorable Mr. Lecturer Ariston Hardinata S.Pd M., Si I as a lecturer in English and my
dear friends
First of all, let us express gratitude for the presence of God Almighty, because thanks
to His grace we are given good health and happiness so that we can gather in this place. In
accordance with the theme we raised about Biotechnology, on this occasion I will deliver a
speech entitled "Positive and Negative Impacts of Biotechnology".
Biotechnology is the utilization of scientific principles that use supporting sciences
including microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, chemical engineering and
enzyminology.

There are so many benefits of biotechnology in everyday life. For example,

developments in biotechnology that utilize genetic engineering include injection mating,
hybridization, vaccination, IVF, and the manufacture of antibiotics. Other examples of
biotechnology in agriculture are hydroponics, tissue culture, pest eradication with Bacillus
thuringiensis, nuclear technology for plant mutation and pest eradication, and itensification or
eccentification

The many benefits of biotechnology have a positive impact on our lives, including
increasing production with good quality and quantity, helping humans in dealing with cases of
environmental pollution, helping the medical and medical world overcome diseases, and
overcoming the problems of preserving biodiversity.

We also need to be aware of the negative impact in the development of biotechnology

which is growing rapidly. Some of the negative impacts include disturbance of ecosystem
balance due to changes in population dynamics, damage and removal of various natural
germplasm, the emergence of new diseases, and biological pollution due to transgenetic
organisms.
So, as consumers in the current development of biotechnology, we must be smart in
choosing from the many positive benefits that should not be made a negative impact.
 That is the speech I can deliver, sorry if there are any wrong words or words that are not
pleasant. Hopefully my speech can be useful for my friends, more or less I say thank you very
much.
