Mia more than a cat:

Today October 4th of 2019 I want to show you a memoir from the most lovely, cute
and awesome family member who had existed. All the days of her life were full of
happiness and love, until August 15th of 2015 when a tragedy happened. A day before, I
remembered that she was so playful and I spend all of my afternoons playing with her,
honestly, I never suspect that in the next day she would die because Mia was a healthy cat
that never got sick. For example, the unique experience she had near to death, was one day
when Mia in the afternoon was watching from a 19th floor, a group of birds in front of an
open window due to her desperation of trying to catch a bird because she loved to do that,
Mia stood on the window frame and was about to fall, but my mommy tried to catch her by
showing a bag of food. Mia besides being beautiful with blue eyes and white fur, was one
of the most intelligent cats I had ever met, because she was able to deduce for example at
what time I arrive from school, also at what time she was taken to her sleeping room, and
when she was going to receive a prize (tuna). This cat was so spoiled, by having her
restroom, toys, scraper, time for going each month to the pet’s hairdressing, and by never
being alone. That is the reason why, we decided to took her a day before the tragedy to our
grandma’s house in Tunja, because we didn’t want to leave her alone but we knew that she
was going to adapt to my grandma's house by being too smart and relax.

That morning of August 15 the sky was completely dark and rainy, in fact, Mia
never woke me up as usual nonetheless everything seemed to be very normal until at 10 am
I was eating my breakfast, and I began hearing some strange sounds. At that moment I
thought that maybe it was my brother Costas playing games, but this was not the case
because then I could establish that the sound came from an animal. When I was coming to
the room where I was staying, I could see how Mia was crawling, it was too strange
because if she had fallen from the stairs, she could not have been in the second floor, but a
weird type of foam coming out from her mouth. Immediately I called my mom and she saw
many pills watered on the floor from my grandma's room. We tried going to a veterinary,
but the nearest one was closed, it was so frustrating because there were no more
veterinarians nearby and we didn't know where to find one. We spend more than 8 minutes
trying to order a taxi but every time I saw Mia, her eyes were completely off but never but
she never let herself be defeated by this until the last despite her pain was increasing. At
11:40 am we could find the unique veterinary open because the rest were closed by being a
special day in my country, when we just arrived the “doctor” asked why she was like that,
so we answered that was because of some tension pills she had eaten. The doctor never
knew what to do with her, since he looked for everything on the internet and he could
establish that the only cure was to give her a human pill that some pharmacies had.
Immediately we tried to find it but was too late, the doctor called my mom and told him
that Mia died due to a cardiorespiratory problem. I could never say goodbye to her that day,
due to all the difficult situations but the next day when we were burying her I could say her
how much I loved her. The biggest void of all this was returning home and not finding her
playing around the house because she gave an impressive peace and joy to all the family.
