CONTROL SOLUTIONS

Project Highlights:

• No of Unit Installed: 32 Door Controllers
and 30 Exit Readers
• Applications Used: Access Control and
Visitor Management

Company Profile
Founded in 1971, DZ cards have conducted their business right from printing computer forms to printing of plastic cards like VISA, Master Cards,
ISO Certified Cards, etc. Cards have now become DZ card's core products with an annual supply of more than 500 million plastic cards to
customers across the globe.

control visitors as well. They wanted the solution to provide company achieve the following:
them with software that could be hosted on their central server
itself from reliability point of view.
RESTRICT UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS:
The prime requirement was to restrict access to specific areas. As the company prints and manufactures highly confidential documents
for their clients; requirement was to allow only specific designated employees to access the particular areas and restrict entry of visitors
and other users. Hence, Matrix incorporated its Access Control solution where we placed door controller and integrated with Magnetic
door lock and exit readers. Users were enrolled and were assigned devices (door controllers) through which access was only allowed
after verified biometric credential authentication.

2 – Person rule:
As goes with the manufacturing units, there might be few areas which require high-end security as the area is dealt with highly confidential
data. Hence, Matrix provided 2-person rule authentication. This particular Access Control feature enables access only when two
authorized users use access rights within a specified time

First-in User:
Manufacturing unit will have large group of workers within the organization. DZ Cards approached Matrix with a requirement that - a group
of employees working under same department will be able to enter the room only after the department manager authenticates. So, labours
working for the organization will not be able to access the room without prior authentication from their team leader.

Anti-Pass Back:
This particular feature was incorporated to prevent to prevent proxy punching. The feature prevents card holder from passing his card to a
second person to gain entry in a controlled area. Second entry from the same card is allowed only after an exit is registered for every
entry. This goes for biometric, too. System will take second punch only after exit punch of 1st punch gets noted.

Man Trap:
As DZ Cards deal with manufacturing of highly confidential data, we found man trap as one of the access control feature most helpful. As
the company is printing and manufacturing visa, credit, smart cards they required second door to be opened only when the first door gets
closed. This man trap feature helped DZ cards secure overall area of the organization. Suppose, there are 3 doors in a row – say Door A,
Door B, Door C. Person 1 accesses door A and then he wishes to access door B. In this scenario, door B gets opened, only when door A
gets closed completely. With this feature, DZ Cards restricted the flow of human traffic and increased productivity while securing the
organization.

Integration:
A manufacturing unit requires integration of xyz products to control the overall security of organization. Hence, Integration plays a major
role here. Matrix has its one of the USP's as integrations, and this is exactly was what DZ cards were looking for:

• Integration with Alarm:

Each door controller placed in DZ Cards is integrated with fire alarm. This states that whenever the fire is caused due to mishap, the alarm
with start buzzing. Along with this, the door controller will open the door automatically; preventing unwanted access during that span of
time. This feature values time and saves life of many at trip point.
Real time Monitoring
Implementing devices of various kinds for security purpose is half glass filled. But, the real thing lies in monitoring. Matrix offers real time
monitoring through which every event occurring gets triggered live in the Matrix monitor. The events get stored in the form of database.
Later, DZ cards can fetch reports as per their need from this database itself. Matrix has provided scheduler services facility by which few
reports gets automatically emailed to the designated person at required time period. This saved man-hours and transformed manual work
into 1 – click operation for DZ Cards.

Visitor Pass creation:
DZ Cards had a requirement to control visitor and keep a track on it. Matrix offered visitor management solution where there are passes created for
each visitor entering and leaving the organization. The visitor needs to surrender the pass when they are leaving the organization. With this
solution, DZ Cards are able to maintain visitor database and fetch reports about number of visitor flow, who entered when and where, etc. Further,
the company can get live status of how many visitors are inside the premises, pre-registered visitors, and can even know about visitors who are
being blocked through Matrix visitor management utility. We even integrated our visitor management with printer and web cam to create visitor
pass and capture visitor photo, respectively. All information of visitor such as reason for visit, to whom he had come to meet, time, duration of
meeting, his identify proofs, etc. gets stored in visitor management software.
