POSITION PAPER ABOUT THE DUTERTE’S ADMINISTRATION

REGARDING THE WAR ON DRUGS CAMPAIGN

INTRODUCTION

It has been years since Duterte became president of the Philippines and
initiated a brutal war on drugs, which has been the government's key
campaign. The war is a good idea and a good way of addressing the country's
drug problem. We can avoid drug smuggling in the Philippines by cooperating
on the president's campaign to stop the drug smugglers in the country and the
president claims that it would have a dominant impact on the other problems
of the country by resolving the issue. The benefit and nemesis of the said
campaign is illustrated in this article. I agree with this campaign against illegal
drugs because I believe that the drug users and drug traffickers in our country
have been successful. It provides people the ability to have a refreshed life so
that everyone can contribute to our society's improvement.

SUPPORTING ARGUMENTS

Despite international criticism of the deadly anti-drug war in the Philippines,

most Filipinos continue to support the campaign of President Duterte that
killed thousands of mostly poor drug suspects. In March, the SWS poll,
involving 1,200 adult respondents nationally, found that 78 percent were
pleased with the success of the administration in its illicit drug drive, with 43
percent being very satisfied and 35 percent being somewhat satisfied, 10
percent being undecided, while only 12 percent were dissatisfied.

It helps to create a drug-free environment. Given the current situation, a drug-

free area or city may seem unlikely, but it is realistic as long as everyone does
their part in the fight against drugs. The drug war should include not just the
government and local authorities, but also friends and family members of drug
users or vendors.

If drug users do not have access to dangerous drugs, they will not experience
highs or hallucinations that will drive them to commit crimes. Nor will they
need to steal them in order to buy drugs. Put clearly, there won't be little
consumers without pushers.

DISCUSSION OF OPPOSING ARGUMENTS

A human rights violation was committed by the Duterte administration's drug

war. Only because the Police and PDEA are committing crimes and violating
human rights on the issue of extra-judicial killings due to obeying the order of
the President to kill drug-related people.
It is not true proof that there is a bad sabotage in the drug war to manage to
destroy the unwanted or petty crimes and also no bad record people. In early
August 2016, the country's top broadcaster, ABS CBN, announced that 603
individuals had been killed since Duterte's May election. More than 4,000
have been detained and more than half a million drug users have been turned
into authorities.

It does mean that Duterte's administration's on the drug war is bad. The
mission to destroy the drug addicts who want to fight the police during Oplan
Tokhang really needs a "walk your talk" ordered by Duterte. It would not
commit a breach of human rights because the police have an arrest warrant
correctly and have been carefully told to surrender to drug abusers.

CONCLUSION

While there are so many critics of the Duterte drug war campaign, the majority
of Filipinos are still strong supporters of the campaign because the country is
experiencing significant changes. It minimizes drug-related crimes. The big
real proof is that because of Duterte's campaign, there are thousands of
surrenders for drug users. It is drug-free to build a nation and every barangay
also culture. During Oplan Tokhang, government can enhance the police
forces to easily overcome drug abuse and allow the surrender to start over
again. This war on drugs campaign should be continued by Duterte to fully
eradicate illegal drugs.
